The heat was intense and the water perfectly cool. English, German, French chatter mingled together incomprehensible in the background. The sun glistened on the water, ever so often a breeze awoke the leaves and a collective sigh embraced the shore.
A moment of awe, so important to find in life and as often as possible.
The coolness of the water caressed my legs, my arms, my stomach. I swim back to where I can comfortably crouch, kneeling on the sand bed, silently crunching water born acorns lying underneath. I move my arms left and right changing position as my ballet teacher showed me. I try to move with flow. I stop trying and just let my body move. I take a deep meditative breathe and another and another.
