Launched in AW15,  Sarah Edwards wanted to channel her many years of experience within premium accessories design to form her own brand.  Inspired by her passion to create a modern collection of leather handbags and accessories, combining style, quality and function to form a collection of accessible luxury, Bell & Fox was born.

I love effortless style, so have drawn on my British heritage, and passion of vintage silhouettes and detailing to create a range of luxurious leather bags and accessories that can be worn on any occasion.

Here’s my exclusive interview…

Profession: Designer
What do you actually do?
I have worked as a designer and buyer for over 25 years, so I start by researching trends, colours, shapes and then design on each seasons collections.  My experience has given me a great technical background, so I can work with my factory on technical specifications and make sure each bag works for a busy lifestyle – the functionality needs to be a seamless part of the design.
What was your first job? Designer!
What inspired you to go down your current career path?
I studied art at college, and loved the combination of fashion and 3-Dimentional design of accessories, so went on to complete a degree in Footwear and Accessories Design.
What inspires you to get out of bed every day!
Oh my goodness, so much!  I am lucky to have had a career doing what I love, so finding inspiration to get up on the morning is not difficult!  And fashion is a constantly moving arena, so there is always something new to see, explore, and work out how I can integrate in to my work.
If you didn’t do what you do, what would you do?
A primary school art teacher – what’s not to love about children, paint and having fun with art!
Can you describe yourself in 3 words?
Love an adventure
What do you do as a special treat for yourself?
A long bubble bath
What does the word ‘style’ mean to you?
Style is about understanding who you are – there is so much variety available, you have to work out what says ‘you’.
How would you describe your personal style?
I love simplicity – clean lines, good quality and layering textures.
What’s your life motto?
Be Kind.
What’s your advice for our readers?
You have to do what you love to have the passion to sustain the highs and the lows that occur in any career or lifestyle that you choose.  If you have the passion, be brave and go for it!
