The press release promised pretty amazing things and I’m delighted to say that Top Drawer actually delivered. I had the pleasure of meeting up with some of my favourite brands and the show allowed me to discover a few more, who will be featured here on Silberzahn Style.
The premise for visiting the show, is too catchup with established brands I know and love, to see their latest collections as well as to scout for upcoming brands that arrest my attention. Once I’ve visited those I need to, I work systematically, strolling through each aisle, only stopping if something really draws my attention.
This season Kate Slater’s layered illustrative cards and textile products jumped out at me and I can’t wait to interview her and find out what it’s all about.
Another textile brand that pulled me over was Henry & Friends created by Beth Jordan. I received one of her cushions as a gift for my son’s nursery and the collection really is just fabulous in terms of detail and quality and a touch of quirky. Here’s what Henry, the Jack Russell has to say about meeting Mr Hare; “Whilst racing with Mr. Badger, I saw Mr. Hare, jump out from behind a hedge and start trailing us, whoa! he certainly can jump with those long back legs of his.” quote taken from The Henry and Friends Brochure.
The third designer that caught my eye was Rosie Proudfoot of Proud Couture. Her stunning tongue in cheek fashion illustrations. are already stocked in Harrods. Rosie has a keen eye for graphic illustration and her bold black and white imagery really stood out.
As always it was a pleasure to meet with the designers and speak to them about their work. I can’t wait to share their design inspiration and business journeys with you soon!
